According to the American Pet Products Association, pet ownership sharply grew in 2020 as over 11.38 million households in the United States got pets during the pandemic. Thus, the workload for veterinary practices also soared, while vets simultaneously grappled with COVID-19 safety protocol, concerns of thinning staff, and growing pressure to see as many patients as possible.
