Did you know that dogs and cats can suffer from high pet blood pressure just like humans? (A normal blood pressure in dogs and cats is around 120/80, similar to what’s normal in people.) High pet blood pressure can be a sign of health problems, including kidney disease, heart disease, and hyperthyroidism (in cats). We also monitor blood pressure during surgery to make sure animals stay safe under anesthesia. Here, Kendall models a miniature blood pressure cuff on her leg–that’s one way to do it. We can also get a pretty accurate reading from the tail. #neaborevet #didyouknow
